The integrity of the dam of Tri Vedero hydro plant was compromised by earthquake and aftershocks that occurred on Tuesday.
Flowing water through the foundation in the northern end is compromising the central "core" of the dam and could lead to catastrophic dam failure.
Considering the risk of massive dam break wave that would have affected villages between Tri Vedero Lake and Ciliashka, authorities will start releasing water from the reservoir of Tri Vedero hydro plant at 8:00 PM Tuesday.
