Nepal Flash Floods 2026

Cluster Operation

Description:

On 26 August 2026, a sudden and powerful flash flood struck central Nepal, affecting the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems in the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, including the strategic Rasuwagadhi border crossing with China. Hundreds of people have been killed, with casualty figures continuing to rise as search and rescue operations progress.

The Logistics and Telecommunications Cluster (LTC) was activated on the 4 September 2026 to support humanitarian partners in overcoming the logistics constraints. In order to enable the response, the LTC is making available storage and air transport services to reach the hard-to-reach or inaccessible areas in Rasuwa. The LTC is continuously monitoring the gaps and constraints to adjust its support to partners as the operation evolves.
