Haiti Emergency
Sector OperationStatus: Active | Start date: | End date: ONGOING
Description:
The Logistics Sector in Haiti addresses major disruptions in humanitarian logistics caused by access constraints, port interruptions, and insecurity, which have led to delays, high transport costs, and congestion. Systemic issues like limited storage, opaque import procedures, and restricted mobility further complicate operations. Based in Port-au-Prince and co-led by WFP and DGPC, the Logistics Sector coordinates with partners through regular meetings and technical working groups. It provides common services including multimodal transport, air-bridge operations, and humanitarian convoys. The sector also supports training, information management via platforms like LogIE Haiti, and government advocacy to improve logistics facilitation.
