Concept:
The Logistics Cluster Induction (LCI) is designed to familiarise participants with the Logistics Cluster by providing an initial experience of the cluster approach in an emergency setting. This training provides information about the cluster approach, the humanitarian reform and its architecture, the mandate, functions and tools of the Logistics Cluster. Participants also discuss and analyse the potential logistics constraints and bottlenecks that frequently occur during humanitarian responses and potential solutions to overcome them. All to enhance the knowledge about the Logistic Cluster, the benefits of interactions and how to do it, while building a wider humanitarian network and increase the sense of community.
Duration:
This training is adaptable to suits the audience and used for different purposes, the duration goes from 2 hours online session to 3.5 days including some sessions about ToT. Check the calendar to see which suits you better.
Target Audience:
Humanitarian professionals preferable with previous emergency response experience.
Training Outcomes:
- Participants have a common understanding on the cluster approach and cluster mandate to ensure an efficient and effective inter-agency logistics response.
- Participants can coordinate with the Logistics Cluster on behalf of their organistations.
- Participants develop an improved understanding of recurrent logistics bottlenecks and the strategies to avoid and overcome constraints.
- Participants will obtain a wider knowledge of the humanitarian community, benefit from the sharing knowledge, and leverage their skills to implement new approaches to their daily job.
