Welcome to the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Resource Hub!

The LCA Resource Hub is designed as a central space where the Logistics Cluster Environment Team (WREC) gathers and shares comprehensive reports from partner organizations that have conducted LCAs on humanitarian relief items. Our goal is to make this knowledge accessible and actionable for the humanitarian community.

  • Practical guides and resources on how to apply LCA insights in decision-making for humanitarian planning, sourcing, and transport operations
  • Tools and best practices to help reduce environmental impact across the supply chain

DG ECHO’s Mapping of Lifecycle Assessments (LCAs)

DG ECHO has compiled a comprehensive mapping of existing LCAs—both publicly and privately available—highlighting key features such as:

  • Place of production and use of assessed items
  • Scope (CO₂ emissions only or broader environmental impacts)
  • Methodology applied
  • System boundaries (e.g., cradle-to-gate, cradle-to-grave)
