As part of the Logistics Working Group (LWG) 2025 Workplan, under indicator 2.3, a focused training session was conducted on 14 May 2025 by World Vision International (WVI). The training took place at Baron Compound, located within WFP Premises in Kabul. This initiative was organized in collaboration with colleagues from the LWG, in the spirit of joint action and knowledge sharing.
World Vision Afghanistan (WVA), a humanitarian actor in the country since 2001, led the session. With operations in over 100 countries and experience in sectors such as Health & Nutrition, WASH, Food Security, Education, and Child Protection.
The training served as a technical session gathering of minds and representatives from various humanitarian and development organizations together with a shared goal to improve asset and disposal management practices across their respective operations. Amid the backdrop of ongoing financial constraints, the event provided a platform for coordination, exchanging insights, and building partnerships for more effective logistics operations.
Objectives of the Training
The training covered themes relevant to logistics teams and supply chain professionals, with an emphasis on:
- Understanding Asset Lifecycle: From acquisition to disposal, participants explored the full journey of asset management.
- Compliance and Regulations: The session reinforced awareness of relevant laws, policies, and accountability requirements.
- Best Practices: Sharing strategies to manage assets efficiently and cost-effectively.
