This edition of the Logistics Cluster Global Meetings (GLM) took place online during the week of 18 October 2021 and saw the participation of INGOs, UN agencies, Donors, academics, the private sector and other interested parties. The meeting focused on four main areas.
During the informational updates and general marketplace sessions, the Logistics Cluster staff provided an operational update with a country-specific focus on Burkina Faso - as practical example of localisation - as well as updates on information management, preparedness and training projects. Partners and stakeholders also presented and exchanged on humanitarian logistics-related topics and innovative projects. See videos and presentations below to learn more about it.
During two-day strategy development consultations, the Logistics Cluster community of partners endorsed its new strategy (2022 – 2026), materialising the result of a five-month development process. Participants were divided into focus groups to reflect, discuss, and elaborate on topics of interest that will be embedded in the Strategy Implementation Plan (SIP). To drive forward adaptations and improvements in emergency response through learning and analysis, on Thursday 21 October a full day of presentations and exchanges with academics was organised to strengthen the collaboration with humanitarian logistics organisations operating in emergencies.
