The Estimating waste through procurement Global info session brought partners together to discuss how organisations can reduce and manage waste more effectively by forecasting what it will be from the procurement process.
Palladium, WFP Venezuela and PIRAC/French Red Cross were invited to speak and share their approach, tool, challenges and lessons learnt. Each organisation came from a different angle estimating waste for:
- Waste reduction strategies
- Planning logistics operations such as reverse logistics
- Emergency preparedness (e.g. contingency plans on waste management).
