Dear UNHAS users,
WFP/UNHAS is pleased to announce the commencement of the UNHAS Pouch service, which is now available to all UNHAS Users effective from 01st July 2010.
UNHAS provides free of charge pouch transportation for all eligible clients if pouch weight is 1 kg or less then 1 kg .
A pouch is a small bag about the size of an A-4 paper, which must be locked or sealed. Pouches must be properly packed, sealed and duly signed by the certification offices of the respective Agency and handed over to a UNHAS Pouch office.
This bag should only contain important official mail / letters / documents etc, and should not weight more then 1 kg. If the weight is more then 1 kg it will be booked as a cargo.
Transportation of money in the pouch is not allowed and UNHAS does not bear any responsibility in case of loss.
It is further advised that for security reasons, pouch / letter / parcel will only be accepted / delivered to / from the agency authorized/designated official of the agency possessing valid agency Identification Card (ID).
The UNHAS pouch is not a diplomatic pouch and therefore all pouches will be duly screened .
The UNHAS Pouch Office (Khartoum) timings are 0900 – 1200 Hrs on all working days.
