1. Logistics Cluster Key Updates
Common services – transport and storage
- The Logistics Cluster provided a reminder of its core functions, highlighting its role as a service cluster supporting humanitarian organisations, in contrast to programme clusters that directly target beneficiaries. The Logistics Cluster continues to focus on coordination, information management, and service provision, with coordination meetings also serving as platforms for information exchange and partner networking.
- The Logistics Cluster facilitates access to road transport and temporary storage services, in Dnipro, Kharkiv and Odesa for the humanitarian organisations at no cost to the user. The Cluster also highlighted its cooperation with the Ukrainian Red Cross, which provides additional capacity for smaller‑scale transport, depending on availability. Transport requests should generally be submitted at least 3 working days in advance as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with longer lead times required for destinations such as Kherson due to notification procedures.
- To request the Logistics Cluster services, partners need to submit the Service Request Form (SRF) through the following link. After submitting the online SRF, partners still need to validate the requests through the link they receive in the inbox.
- Partners were reminded of the importance of completing requests accurately. The Cluster reminded that, as per standard conditions, it acts as a service provider (agent) and does not assume liability for cargo. All transported and stored goods remain the property and responsibility of the requesting organisation, and partners are responsible for arranging insurance where necessary. The Cluster will provide all relevant documentation in case of incidents but does not cover losses or damages.
- The Logistics Cluster continues to support Inter-Agency Convoys (IACs) with cargo consolidation and transport facilitation through WFP dedicated fleet trucks. IACs are coordinated by OCHA which identifies critical locations according to the current gaps and needs as well as access situation and, based on them, defines the destinations of the next IACs. Needs are also often provided by Local Authorities of the particular communities in communications with OCHA and shared with organisations that want to participate to the convoys. Partners who wish to participate to IACs, should directly contact OCHA focal points in their respective areas: Mykolaiv, Sinaver Seitumerov at sinaver.seitumerov@un.org and Odesa, Alina Basiuk at alina.basiuk@un.org.
TRAINING
- Under capacity‑building activities, the Cluster presented ongoing learning opportunities:
- Registration is now closed for the second cohort of the online course on import and customs clearance (in Ukrainian), which began 27 May and will run for six weeks till 7 July in a flexible, self‑paced format. Should partners be interested in joining this cohort, kindly contact us at ukraine.logisticscluster@wfp.org till 29 May COB. The next cohort is scheduled for October-November 2026.
- The Cluster continues to deliver its Introductory Logistics Cluster Training on a quarterly basis, with the next session planned to take place in Kyiv on 24–25 June. Information on the training and registration will be shared with partners via email distribution lists and messenger apps.
- Partners were also offered the possibility to arrange warehouse familiarisation visits, providing a practical overview of logistics processes and operations.
2. Updates from Partners
- A partner organisation, Foundation of Goodness and Love, presented a brief overview of its activities. The organisation reported ongoing humanitarian operations across Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions, including the delivery of food assistance, medical supplies, and support items for vulnerable populations. Activities also include support to internally displaced persons, elderly populations, persons with disabilities, and families with children, as well as community‑based initiatives such as humanitarian distribution points and social support groups. The organisation highlighted its strong reliance on partnerships and volunteer networks, as well as its openness to collaboration with other humanitarian actors. The details on their activities were shared with partners through the mailing list along with the rest of the meeting’s presentation.
3. AOB
- Humanitarian organisations are invited to share with the Logistics Cluster at ukraine.logisticscluster@wfp.org their logistics challenges they are facing in Ukraine operation.
The next Logistics Cluster Coordination meeting for the south will be held in Odesa in July
