Aswa Bridge on Kitgum-Gulu road is completely over flooded (about 30 centimeters above the bridge).
The UPDF has closed the road about 2 kilometers before reaching the river for all vehicles on the Gulu side. Unclear the UPDF has the same policy on the other side of the river (Kitgum) as they belong to a different UPDF division.
Alternative still open roads: through Awere – Awere Bridge if traveling to Pader while traveling through Oroko – Apyeta Bridge if moving to Kitgum.
The Aswa Bridge, 35 minutes drive from Gulu, boarder with Kitgum district, is the main crossing point into Kitgum and Pader districts yesterday afternoon. I traveled with the Chairman of DDMC as Stella was already visiting south east parts of the Gulu district with other team (boarding with Pader district).
