Summary
The 11 August 2026 Logistics Cluster meeting in Mogadishu focused on preparing for El Niño flooding expected in the October–December Deyr season. About 3.2 million people are exposed and around 1 million could be displaced, mainly in Hiraan and Lower and Middle Juba. The Cluster moved 460 MT of cargo and stored 1,002 MT for partners in the first half of 2026. It has mapped 47 boats, validated 12 inflatable boats, and is expanding contingency storage in flood-prone districts. Access remains difficult: conflict is disrupting movement in several regions, key roads are inaccessible, Elwak airstrip is closed, and ports are open but facing delays. Partners are asked to complete the GNA survey and submit their pipeline and storage needs by the end of September 2026.
