Summary
Solarisation Service Provider Outreach Toolkit: The Logistics Cluster Environmental Sustainability Team (WREC Coalition) is compiling country-level information via LogIE on solarisation service providers that can assess needs (e.g., energy audits), supply equipment, install systems, and provide maintenance. This Outreach Toolkit helps humanitarian organisations contribute to that mapping by providing clear, step-by-step guidance and ready-to-use templates (email, social media, and website text) to promote the initiative and request inputs from regional, country, and field offices. By making it easier to share and collect provider information, the toolkit helps keep the mapping accurate and up to date—enabling faster solarisation, reducing reliance on generator fuel, cutting emissions, and supporting cleaner, more resilient humanitarian operations.

Why the solarisation service provider mapping?
Mapping solarisation service providers helps organisations plan and deliver solarisation faster by making it easier to identify nearby companies that can assess needs (e.g., energy audits), install systems, and provide maintenance. You can access the mapping for free on the Logistics Cluster LogIE map—and your contributions help keep it accurate and useful.

Why this outreach toolkit?
This outreach toolkit is needed to help humanitarian organisations quickly mobilise contributions to the solarisation service provider mapping—so the information on who can assess needs, install systems, and provide maintenance is available where and when projects are planned.
While solarising facilities can deliver significant cost savings, improve business continuity by reducing reliance on fuel supply chains, and support decarbonisation commitments, these benefits are harder to realise if teams cannot easily identify capable local providers. Therefore, this toolkit and subsequent mapping is particularly relevant for supply chain and programme colleagues applying for funding to get realistic and up-to-date information on products and services available locally to reduce dependence on fuel and reduce costs (return on investment) over time.
By providing ready-to-use messages and simple guidance, the toolkit reduces the time and effort required to provide inputs. This in turn helps keep the LogIE solarisation service provider mapping accurate, up to date, and useful for faster implementation.

Who does the mapping?
Any humanitarian organisation can contribute to this mapping—whether you operate at field, regional, or headquarters level. All contributions are welcome. Even mapping a single solarisation service provider is helpful for other organisations interested in solarising their facilities.
- Country, field, and regional offices are often best placed to contribute, as they know the local market; but headquarters are also welcome to map solarisations service providers through desk review.
- Headquarters teams are encouraged to invite and support field/regional offices to complete the mapping.
- After completing the questionnaire, please email the Logistics Cluster’s WREC Coalition at Global.WREC@wfp.org. The WREC Coalition reviews your submission and publishes it once you provide the essential information.

How to do the mapping in three quick steps
You can map as many solarisation service providers as you know. One provider is helpful; several providers are even better. If you can cover multiple areas—or the whole country—please do so. Contributing to the mapping isn’t limited to providing a full, country-wide, and heavy assessment; even small contributions from partners can feed into the updated information available to support the humanitarian community. - Share the invitation with colleagues in regional/country/field offices (if applicable). Headquarters can also complete the mapping if they have the relevant market knowledge/ and/or if online information from providers is available.
- Assign a focal point to complete the solarisation service provider mapping form.
- The focal point completes the form for each provider, adding as much information as possible. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory, including:
- Number of offices.
- Service provider name.
- Address and location.
- Service provider contact details.
- Solarisation services offered.
- Solarisation equipment available.
After you submit the form, the Logistics Cluster WREC Coalition focal point reviews the information and works with the Logistics Cluster team to publish the mapping on LogIE and (as a matrix) on the Logistics Cluster website.
