Border Crossings & Customs
- WFP and the Logistics Cluster have established regular coordination with the Department for Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to ensure no delays with customs clearance of imported humanitarian cargo.
- As part of the Logistics Emergency Team (LET) partnership, a UPS representative is available to advise the humanitarian community on customs procedures. Contact details may be found at: http://www.logcluster.org/ops/phl13a
Air Transport
- A UNHAS dedicated 9-seat King Air 350 has now been brought in and will be based in Cebu to serve Roxas, Ormoc and Guiuan to serve the humanitarian community with passenger and light cargo services. Organizations should communicate their requirements for passenger transport to unhas.philippines@wfp.org.
- The passenger service will be free of charge to the users until further notice.
- Availability of landing slots at Tacloban airport continues to be a constraint.
- Currently, Tacloban airport cannot be served by fixed-wing aircraft due to heavy congestion at the airport, two helicopters will be contracted to provide additional airlift. The helicopters will be positioned in Cebu to begin rotations as soon as possible.
Sea Transport
- A vessel carrying USAID food, ETC equipment and a large amount of UNHCR items has left from Cebu to Tacloban.
- Another vessel has been loaded with humanitarian cargo belonging to UNICEF, UNHCR, ACF, Samaritan's International, and Spanish Cooperation Agency (AECID).
Storage
- A Logistics Cluster Coordination meeting was held in Tacloban.
