CONTENTS
1.HIGHLIGHT
- Interagency Fleet Managing agreement extended at “no cost” for two extra months
2. SECURITY
- Security Phase 3 is confirmed as no major incidents happened and no influenza cases reported in country.
- Noting to report connected to Cluster or Inter-Agency Fleet Activities
3. BORDER CROSSING:
- Nothing to report, except that other than from airplane passenger, the Influenza spreading in the region could hit the Country from its border with Dominican Republic
- Triage Centres established with WFP and Log cluster Support are operational. Screening for incoming passengers will start at International Airports.
4. LOGISTICS COORDINATION:
- On the 25th of May the Cluster meeting for Artibonite region was be held in Gonaive.
- On Monday the 1st of June Haiti Cluster Meeting will be held in Port au Prince.
5. CIVIL MILITARY COORDINATION:
- Meeting with MINUSTAH Joint Operation Centre Staff was held on Monday the 25 in preparation of a common exercise. Cluster and MINUSTAH procedures were discussed, standardisation of CMRs remaining an issue to work on.
- An Emergency Simulation exercise of the MINUSTAH Expanded Joint Operation Center was held on Wednesday the 25th. The Log Cluster officer participated in both the exercise and the after action review process.
6. INFRASTRUCTURE:
A bridge in the region of Shout-East (at the east of Perigot at approx 30 Kms east from Jacmel at position N 18-15.842 / W 072-18.043 in direction 73/253 ) collapsed due to the heavy rains; some areas remain inaccessible without completing a long detour.
Contacts have been taken with different actors to explore the possibility of a quick deployment of a mobile bridge. Research important also for our Cyclonic Season Preparedness.
7. TRANSPORT SECTOR:
- On Wednesday Thursday the 28 a meeting was held between WFP Logistics, Cluster Officer and Atlas/HI representatives on way forward after the end of the current managing agreement now renovated at no cost for two months, up to 24 July 2009. Discussion on Going also on a possible unification of all WFP Fleet under the same management system.
- The interagency fleet continues to operate, from the 04/05 to 15/05 transported:

- Discussion on going with the WFP shipping section on cabotage boats deployment. Contacts with different shipping companies continues in the quest of the right both that will fulfil the requirements for Haiti Operation.
8. FUEL:
- Rupture in Fleet stocks repaired. Forecast for the next three months has been prepared and shared with Procurement Unit to avoid this problem again. Purchase procedure started.

9. OTHER
- On Tuesday 26th of May the Log Cluster Officer participated in the Food Coordination Meeting chaired by World Vision with the participation of USAID, CRS, ACDI/VOCA, and presented Logistics cluster activities and discussed for possible partnership (warehousing in the southern regions).
- On Friday 29 a meeting with the participation of the Department of Civil Protection, OCHA and Logistics Cluster representative was held with subject the preparation status for the incoming cyclonic season.
