1. HIGHLIGHTS
- Since 25 January the Logistics Cluster has dispatched 3101 pallets of cargo to the Gaza Strip through Kerem Shalom border crossing, originating from West Bank, Egypt and Israel. The coordinated transportation service has enabled 27 organisations to deliver humanitarian relief to Gaza.
- An updated list of priority relief items for transportation to Gaza is being prepared in consultation with humanitarian sector groups. The list will ensure that humanitarian cargo which is essential to address the needs of communities in Gaza is identified by the humanitarian community and communicated to customs officials.

3. LOGISTICS COORDINATION
- Jerusalem Logistics Cluster meeting 09 February: It was agreed that Logistics Cluster members will focus on providing projected cargo transportation requirements over the next weeks to ascertain the need for coordinated transportation services, including for projects implemented under the Flash Appeal. Participants supported the continued role of the Logistics Cluster in negotiation for clearance of priority humanitarian relief items for entry into Gaza.
- El Arish Logistics Cluster meeting 08 February: The backlog of pending cargo consigned to Logistics Cluster members to be transported from El Arish to Gaza has almost been cleared. The Egypt Logistics Cluster also provides information on border crossing and coordination services for organisations operating from Egypt.
- Gaza Logistics Cluster meeting 12 February: The Logistics Cluster meeting in Gaza was held specifically to address some of the challenges in delivery of cargo to Gaza. Logistics Cluster members agreed to provide pipeline information in order to plan for a shared storage space in Gaza. Information on transportation costs and warehouse prices will be made available. Participants agreed to provide detailed reports on damages to cargo resulting from security checks at border crossings so that these can be followed up and addressed by the Logistics Cluster.
- Coastal Municipalities Water Utility reported that they are still encountering limitations in the importation of water pumps and desalination equipment necessary for infrastructure repairs for provision of safe drinking water to conflict-affected communities in Gaza.
4. CIVIL/MILITARY COORDINATION
- Five trucks containing 130 pallets of student folders supplied by UNICEF were refused entry to Gaza on 08 February. The Logistics Cluster has been following up with customs officials who cite a lack of clarity over the intended user in accompanying documentation as the basis for the refusal.
- The Logistics Cluster also continues to follow up clearance with COGAT for ACF water and sanitation equipment; MAP medical equipment for infant health care; and 12 trucks of food supplies from Mercy Corps which have been blocked at the Egyptian border since 28 January.
- COGAT confirmed that there is as yet no intention to revise the policy prohibiting clearance of reconstruction materials which would enable aid agencies working in Gaza to transition to rehabilitation and reconstruction.
