- There has been an improvement of access since mid-May. Oxfam reports that there were 843 truckloads of goods entering Gaza this week compared to 384 the previous week. However this represents 64% of the pre-blockade figures and remains far from the AMA targets.
- UNRWA, WFP, USAID and UNICEF are managing to get a range of food, medicine and other humanitarian goods into Gaza however the process remains opaque. Urgently needed early recovery materials and materials to support livelihoods of the Gaza population remain highly restricted and construction materials remain prohibited. The Logistics Cluster Support Cell continues to wait for approval for various items including recreational kits, wheel chairs and materials to build fish ponds. However items for UNRWA summer games such as swimming pools, trampolines and slides for the summer games were permitted.
- Some 50,000 people are suffering from problems of shelter in the aftermath of operation cast lead. There is an urgent need for early recovery and construction materials. 4,000 families remain in tented accommodation since operation cast lead. Another 4,000 are living in houses which were badly damaged by the war and are in need of urgent repairs to return them to a habitable state
- The logistics cluster continues to work to obtain agreement in how to communicate arrivals with the Gaza de-facto customs authority. The matter will be raised at the next HCT meeting.
