Highlights
- The Logistics Cluster facilitated delivery of cluster participants’ relief items on seven new air routes in various provinces.
- The Logistics Cluster made six additional temporary storage facilities available to cluster participants (four in KPK Province and two in Gilgit-Baltistan).
Air Operations
- Since 28 August, the Logistics Cluster has coordinated the delivery of relief items to seven new locations as follows:
- Gilgit Baltistan: From Islamabad (Chaklala) to Gilgit
- KPK: From Ghazi to Manykal,
- KPK: From Ghazi to Mataltan,
- Punjab: From Multan to Taunsa and Jampur,
- Punjab: From Taunsa to Kotani
- Sindh: From Sukkur to Kashmore
- The Logistics Cluster facilitated cluster participants’ access to two additional Government of Pakistan helicopter staging grounds in Punjab Province:
- Staging out of DG Khan Airport to: Kaluwala (DG Khan District)
- Staging out of Jampur City (FG College) to: Dangora, Patti Gaddi and Meher Makwal (Rajanpur District)
- The Logistics Cluster facilitated the transportation of relief items from Chaklala to Gilgit-Baltistan using a C-130 aircraft provided by the Government of Pakistan.
- UNHAS: Four UNHAS helicopters continued to deliver relief items for Logistics Cluster participants, operating out of Multan. An additional four UNHAS helicopters are expected to arrive in the country within the coming week.
- Logistics Cluster participants are invited to submit Cargo Movement Request forms to transfer relief items. The form is available on the Logistics Cluster website: http://www.logcluster.org/ops/pak09a/cargo-movement-request
Storage & Warehousing
- Additional temporary storage facilities are now available to Logistics Cluster participants for transhipment at the following locations:
- KPK: Besham, Khwaza Khela, Ghazi and Peshawar
- Gilgit-Baltistan: Gilgit and Aliabad
- In order to avail of storage services, Logistics Cluster participants are reminded to submit Temporary Storage Requests available on the website: http://www.logcluster.org/ops/pak09a/temporary-storage-request.
Road Conditions Updates
- The Logistics Cluster circulated updated information on road conditions in various provinces to cluster participants and is available on the Logistics Cluster website - http://www.logcluster.org/ops/pak09a/ndma_road_access_update_100902/view.
- Organisations with any additional road access information are invited to forward it to pakistan.logs@logcluster.org for inclusion in future updates.
Staffing
- Additional staff have arrived to augment the Provincial Logistics Cluster Cells in Pakistan. In Peshawar, Multan and Sukkur, there are now two dedicated Logistics Cluster staff; i.e. a Logistics Coordinator as well as a Logistics Officer to manage storage and aviation services.
