WFP Air Service

WFP is operating its Air Service from Spriggs Payne Airport. WFP Air Service currently operates flights between Abidjan, Conakry, Monrovia, and Freetown.

Flights take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and link Monrovia with Abidjan, Freetown and Conakry.

June 1st:  new destination within Liberia, Voinjarma.

This destination will be primarily on request, as well as Zwedru, due to the actual poor number of passengers, but, as soon as the structure will allow the aircraft to go there regularly, and as soon as we will have significant number of passengers, it will be a normal, permanent destination.

Note also that, following the last Ivory Coast User Group Committee recommendations, it is envisaged to add Man to the schedule as soon as possible, if the security situation permits it.

The new schedule aims at increasing cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency. Monthly flying hours have been reduced without cutting routes and as such, offering the same weekly service albeit less frequently on certain routes. WFP is consistently trying to improve its services to the humanitarian community while, at the same time, making the best possible use of available resources.

Emergencies (MEDEVAC, Security Evacuation) remain first priority Ref : SOP.

Would the case rises, and on an exceptional case by case basis, after authorization of the CATO and the Director of the Regional Humanitarian Coordination & Support Office, the aircraft could be used during standby days, at the imperative condition of 80% of occupation on all legs.

UNHCR Operations

UNHCR is presently operating a Beechcraft to fly passengers between Conakry, Freetown, Monrovia and Abidjan on Monday and Friday. Bookings for Monday's flight should be made latest by 1200, Thursday, while booking for Friday's flight should be arranged by 1200, Wednesday:

ICRC Operations

ICRC is operating their Beechcraft King Air 200 from Spriggs Payne Airport.  In country, ICRC flies to Voinjama and Zwedru on Tuesday and Friday. These flights only accommodate ICRC staff. Any requests for consideration to personnel other than those of ICRC, contact should be made with:
