HIGHLIGHTS
- Flooding: On 1 September, White Nile and Sennar States received another heavy rain (Sudanese Red Crescent Society reported 203 mm rainfall in Kosti town) causing flooding. In response to these rains, UNJLC and the NFI Common Pipeline (CP) shifted flood response emphasis back to these states. The flood response in Southern Kordofan and Abyei continued, however, as bad road conditions continue to hamper the operation.
- Funding: A total of 8 million euros from the Dutch Government shall be channelled through CHF for flood response projects across all sectors, nationwide. ECHO requested project submissions from the Emergency Shelter & NFI, Health, and Water and Sanitation sectors for access to an available 1.8 million euros for flood response.
- 2008 Work Plan: Sector Plans for the five Work Plan regions of ROS have been finalised. Agencies started to submit their project sheets to UNJLC for the sector submission
