1. Update on Humanitarian Access (OCHA)

North Kivu 

• New movement restrictions on National Road 2 (RN2) for the Beni–Goma section: The current administration is imposing a 21-day quarantine on commercial and humanitarian personnel arriving in Goma from Beni. Exemptions for humanitarian movements have been lifted.
• Requirement to use two drivers and assistant drivers who take turns on the Beni–Goma route.
• Humanitarian coordinators are negotiating with the Rwandan government to allow humanitarian staff to transit through Kigali for departure via international airlines. Negotiations are ongoing.

Ituri

• Access to Ebola-affected areas in Ituri: The “Access – OCHA” coordination team will hold ad hoc meetings starting the week of June 29 in Bunia to assess access, in collaboration with the LOGISTICS CLUSTER. 
• Improved access for humanitarian actors in certain neighborhoods of the Ebola-affected areas (Mongbwalu Health Zone), following several awareness-raising sessions with local communities.
• Teturi Bridge: located on National Road 44 along the Mambasa-Teturi-Biakato route, approximately 170 km from Bunia. This bridge has been collapsed since early June. Users are currently relying on canoes to cross, subject to informal fees.

2. Epidemiological Update (COUSP-INSP)

• As of June 22, 2026, three (3) provinces are affected: Ituri, with 22 of 36 health zones affected; North Kivu, with 11 of 34 zones affected; and South Kivu, with 1 of 34 zones affected.
• For the three affected provinces, the cumulative totals are as follows: 1,094 confirmed cases, 277 deaths (representing a case fatality rate of 25.3%), 387 patients in isolation, and 115 recovered cases.
• 46 new confirmed cases were reported on June 22: 43 in Ituri (including the 10 deaths) and 3 cases in North Kivu. 
• The COUSP invites all organizations that have deployed equipment or supplies to the response areas to send their packing lists to kwetegode@yahoo.fr for consolidation. (+243 999 799 321).

3. UNHAS Updates

• Commercial flights to or from Bunia remain prohibited (Ebola containment measures); only humanitarian flights are authorized. UNHAS operates flights between Kinshasa and Bunia, Bunia and Beni, and from Bunia to affected areas. 
• Eight (8) new destinations are planned in Ituri, namely: Fataki, Tchomia, Kasenyi, Komanda, Kilo, Bambu, Nizi, and Butembo.
• An airlift remains operational with free flights for humanitarian workers on Ebola response missions: two daily flights to Mungbwalu and one flight to Nyankunde and Rwampara. 
• Ebola flight statistics: 268 flights operated, carrying 1,772 passengers and 189,305 kg of cargo, as part of the Ebola response, over 89 days.
• Procedures for medical evacuations (MEDEVAC) are currently being developed by the WHO and UNHAS in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.

4. Updates from the Logistics and Telecommunications (LTC) Cluster

• The LTC reminds all parties that free warehousing and transportation services are provided to humanitarian partners involved in the Ebola response. The ConOps and SOPs documents explain in detail the procedures and how to access these services.

Bunia Hub

• 60 m³ of medicines received at the warehouses in Bunia and 161.5 m³ of medicines and supplies dispatched from Bunia to 12 sites (Mungwalu Health Zone, Nizi Health Zone, Augba Health Zone, Nyankunde Health Zone, CTE CME, Nizi Health Zone, WHO Office, UNFPA, Lita Health Zone, Logo Health Zone, Bunia District Health Center, Karibuni General Hospital).
• A second helicopter (donated by the Airbus Foundation) arrived in Bunia on June 24 to bolster the transport of Ebola supplies and equipment from Bunia to other affected areas.
• Partners with supplies stored in Bunia beyond the transit deadline are asked to deploy them to their destination sites to facilitate the arrival and storage of other response kits currently being shipped to Bunia. The LCT provides this dispatch service free of charge upon request by filling out the online service request form available on the RITA platform. 
• Port of entry: Mahagi Rete is the main port of entry for road-based supplies from Uganda (Entebbe) used by humanitarian organizations traveling to Bunia.

Entebbe Hub (Uganda)

• Fourteen flights aboard C-130s, carrying a total of 101 metric tons, were conducted between Entebbe and Bunia; another flight is scheduled later today. 
• Priority is given to personal protective equipment (PPE) and supplies for Ebola treatment units (ETUs). 
• 14 trucks were dispatched from Entebbe to Bunia, carrying more than 125 metric tons. Three have already arrived in Bunia, and the remaining 11 are en route.

5. Other Information or Activities

• South Kivu: Reopening of the RN5 highway: vehicles from humanitarian and commercial organizations can once again travel between Bukavu and Uvira. 
• North Kivu: The COUSP-Bunia highlighted the need to supply Beni (North Kivu) and Nia-Nia (Ituri) with medicines and PCI and EDS supplies. It was advised to contact the Logistics Cluster and UNHAS directly in Bunia.
