Medicine and Medical Supplies from Egypt to Gaza:
Medicines and medical supplies entering through the Egyptian corridor are required by the Egyptian Authorities to be solely routed through the Rafah border crossing point.
Medical Cargo arriving via sea or road can be consigned to the Egyptian Red Crescent which, in close coordination with WHO, will coordinate dispatch to the Palestinian Red Crescent and/or the Palestinian Ministry of Health through the Rafah crossing.
Agencies or NGOs having different consignees from the above should closely coordinate with their consignee to ensure enough trucking capacity is present at Rafah Palestine
The Logistics Cluster will facilitate the segregation of medicines and medical supplies from food and non food items to ensure smooth crossing at Rafah.
Palletization is not required for medical cargo.
Opening Days:
As at 19 January, the Rafah border crossing is open every day of the week.
Hours of Operation:
The core working hours are from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Yet during this critical period and until further notice, the closing hours remain flexible dependent on the trucks that still need to proceed through the Rafah crossing.
