Key Logistics Highlights: 26June 2025 -2 September 2025
Punjab Monsoon Flooding
- Massive Displacement and Relief Operations: Over 909,000 people and 516,000 livestock have been evacuated to Punjab. Relief logistics involve 700+ shelters, 378 medical, and 330 veterinary camps, with critical support from the Army and humanitarian partners providing food, water and medical aid.
- Access and Supply Chain Disruptions: Flooded transport routes and submerged croplands (rice, sugarcane, maize, cotton) are causing logistics bottlenecks, hampering aid delivery and local food supply chains. The situation is fluid, with downstream areas in South Punjab and Sindh at growing risk.
- Forecast-driven preparedness: with heavy rainfall forecast (1-3 Sep) and reservoirs at full capacity, logistics teams remain on high alert through mid-September for potential surges in the Sutlej, Ravi, and Chenab rivers. Prepositioning of emergency supplies and route clearance are urgent priorities.
