1. General Updates
- “Dual-use” Updates: “Dual-use” authorisations returned to one day a week following the temporary and exceptional allocation of two days in the week commencing 16 August.
- Gaza Crossings Update:
- Although there was an announcement about the installation of a cargo scanner at Erez, there is no indication of the reopening of Erez Crossing for humanitarian cargo movements at this stage. The Logistics Cluster Support team and Lead Agency continue to advocate for additional crossing points and extended operating hours, as reliance on a single crossing point (KS/KAS) creates operational vulnerabilities and increases the risk of disruptions to aid delivery. Any potential use of the Erez scanner to support operations at KS/KAS would require additional escort arrangements and extra transport costs.
- Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem (KS/KAS) Cargo Collection
- Offloading and cargo collection are authorised from Sunday to Thursday; only cargo collection is authorised on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Since the 18 August Gaza Coordination Meeting, the Logistics Cluster support team coordinated six cargo collection convoys to KS/KAS.
- Access to the KS/KAS platform remains restricted to international staff.
- The Cluster support team conducted a full physical inventory on 25 August with 739 pallets of humanitarian aid counted.
- 12 Cluster-managed temporary storage facilities are available in Gaza, with a combined storage capacity of 16,000 square meters. Plans are underway to expand capacity to 20,000 m² while also improving facility quality.
- On 23 August, a nearby airstrike affected two Logistics Cluster warehouses; all staff were safe, no cargo was lost, and one warehouse became unusable due to severe structural damage.
2. UN/INGO Upstream Truck Overview
- During August, over 42,800 pallets (more than 2,150 trucks) were offloaded. UN/INGO aid throughput in August was 7% lower than the average since March 2026 (around 2,300 trucks) due to a variety of factors including limited upstream cargo availability and cargo that could not be fully cleared in time for August transport. Food continues to represent the largest share of shipments.
- Overall offloading performance improved across all routes in August; only 16% of manifested trucks did not offload as scheduled. The Egypt route showed notable progress, achieving 71% scheduled offloading. Trucks that did not offload as planned were either re-manifested for subsequent processing or cancelled/rejected due to transport, clearance, inspection, or documentation issues.
- The Logistics Cluster support team coordinated 13 Back-to-Back (B2B) convoys comprising 353 trucks on behalf of six partners through the Jordan corridor.
- September holidays may affect operations; impacted dates and hours of operation will be shared once confirmed.
- Partners are reminded to submit their weekly tentative plan by Wednesday, and to subsequently submit the tentative daily plan by 10:00, with final manifest by 15:00, the day prior to dispatch.
3. Gaza Common Services Overview
- Between 01 and 31 August, 12,569 pallets of inter-agency cargo were collected from KS/KAS via Cluster-managed common transport services; and 12,023 pallets of inter-agency cargo, from ten partner organizations, were received for storage in Cluster-managed common warehouses across the Gaza Strip.
- To improve end-to-end tracking, partners are requested to confirm - based on the waybill - dispatch date and receipt status (received in good condition/damaged/lost) for cargo delivered to their warehouse via Cluster-managed common transport services.
- Cluster-managed common transport and storage services remain available per the agreed Concept of Operations; subject to access, security, and funding considerations.
- Organisations that need support from the Cluster-managed common services should submit a Service Request Form (SRF) at least 72 hours in advance, and must await confirmation of their request being “accepted” prior to making any practical arrangements to hand over. For all “accepted” requests the provided SRF QR code must be printed and placed on all four sides of the relevant pallets.
4. Humanity and Inclusion/Atlas Logistique (HI) Monthly Update
- Between 01 and 30 August, HI provided storage services in Gaza to nine partners, (receiving 540 pallets and releasing 334) including 22 pallets requiring temperature-controlled storage. Warehouse occupancy remains at 40%, with ongoing inventory rotation to maximises capacity and serve more partners.
- Between 01 and 30 August, HI transported 690 pallets through 45 transport movements, fulfilling 32 transport requests and providing transport services to 11 partner organisations.
5.UNOPS Fuel-Updates
- UNOPS continues to procure, store and distribute fuel, collected at KS/KAS three times per week (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday). UNOPS maintains approximately one week of fuel stock for partner operations.
- Three fuel stations are operational: one in Az Zawayda and two in Gaza City.
- In August, 4.6 million litres of diesel and 73,000 litres of benzene were distributed through 126 trucks.
6. AOB
- The next Warehouse Management Training session will be organised in the coming weeks. A registration form will be circulated to partners for participation.
