• Israeli authorities closed Zikim crossing to Gaza on 24 May; all UN/INGO cargo is now routed via Kerem Shalom-Karem Abu Salem (KS). During January and February, the only months in 2026 when the crossing was operational without closures, Zikim accounted for 33% of UN/INGO humanitarian trucks delivering cargo to Gaza and it has been the only operational direct entry point to northern Gaza.
• UN/INGO aid throughput* rose by 6% in May after a dip in March and April. Commodities included Food Security items (61%), followed by Shelter (18%), WASH (11%), Health (4%) and 6% was other cargo.
• The largest proportion of UN/INGO cargo (mostly the food pipeline) was dispatched from Ashdod (47%) in May. From Egypt, the offloading rate of manifested trucks dropped to 50% (down from 59% in April and 80% in March), with the other 50% rejected or returned. The closure of Sheikh Hussein Bridge crossing from Jordan (on 29 May) due to a fire incident, created a backlog and resulted in the cancellation of three convoys totaling 36 trucks across three delivery days
• Logistics Cluster storage capacity expanded to 13 warehouses (~17,500 m²) across Gaza following the opening of a new facility in Khan Younis on 26 May 2026.
• The World Health Organization published a snapshot on the operational status of essential health resources and services in Gaza (WHO HeRAMS, March 2026).
