Summary

The Logistics Sector coordination meeting brought together humanitarian partners to discuss access, logistics operations, rainy season preparedness, and sustainable waste management. OCHA reported successful cargo movements to several locations in Borno State and highlighted upcoming movements, while reminding partners to follow approved cargo notification and military escort procedures. Updated humanitarian access products and a Humanitarian Roundtable with the Theatre Commander are expected in early August. The Logistics Sector encouraged partners to pre-position relief supplies ahead of rainy season access challenges and remove cargo stored in common warehouses beyond the 90-day limit. The Sector also reaffirmed its readiness to support cholera response activities. The WREC Coalition Team shared progress on a waste management pilot project, which identified organic waste and plastics as the main waste streams. Future activities will focus on waste collection, recycling, composting, and strengthening sustainable waste management practices. Partners were also informed of the upcoming LogIE training on 04 August, aimed at improving operational planning and access to logistics information during the rainy season. Key action points included strengthening preparedness, participating in upcoming training and coordination activities, and continuing engagement on waste management initiatives.
