- In April, reported distributions by Sector partners in Southern Sudan supported 2,716 households with essential nonfood items (NFIs) and emergency shelter (ES). To these households, 1,827 NFI kits were provided as well as various loose items.
- UNLC continues to monitor and coordinate Sector response to new displacements. In Jonglei, 1,000 NFI kits and as well as cooking sets and mosquito nets were distributed in April, with an additional 2,697 NFI kits and loose items to be delivered in May. Insecurity in Central and Western Equatoria has hampered needs assessments and distributions but the Sector is ready to respond as soon as access opens up.
- CERF has allocated a total of US$403,123 to the NFI & ES Sector to support households displaced by LRA related conflict in Central and Western Equatoria. Funding has been allocated to UNICEF and IOM to procure and transport NFIs for 3,500 displaced households.
- In collaboration with Pipeline partners, UNJLC is developing a Common Appeal for Funding for the NFI Common Pipeline Pilot Project; the finalized appeal will be circulated to donors in late May.
