Situation updates
- NDRRMA priorities are increasingly focused on the recent rainfall situation, while visibility on the Rasuwa Flash Floods response remains limited due to the absence of a consolidated situation report since 26 September.
- Holding centres in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading continue to progressively empty; however, there remains limited inter-agency visibility on the subsequent movement and relocation of affected populations.
- Inter-cluster coordination discussions focus on winterization preparedness and cash coordination priorities.
2. LTC Logistics updates
SOPs and Service Request Process
- LTC SOPs are updated to formally include common road transport services.
- Existing government coordination mechanisms and humanitarian cargo clearance procedures remain applicable.
- Partners are encouraged to continue coordinating cargo movements through established TC service request processes.
- Additional briefings and support on operational procedures remain available for partners as required.
Storage
- Work continues to establish an operational logistics hub in Dhunche, including a common transit warehouse, road and air transport support services, and common office space.
- The common storage facility in Dhunche is being finalized and is expected to support temporary storage and transshipment of humanitarian cargo prior to onward distribution. The responsibility for final delivery remains with requesting organizations.
- Initial storage capacity is expected to be limited, and partners with larger storage requirements are encouraged to coordinate in advance.
- An additional 1,100 m² of warehouse capacity is being made available in Kathmandu.
- A total of 185.4 MT of partner cargo has been received through Kathmandu and Bidur warehouse facilities.
Air transport
- Common air services continue operating from Kathmandu and Bidur.
- A total of 58 air deliveries has been completed, transporting 107.1 MT (285.94 m³) of humanitarian cargo.
- Eight delivery locations have been reached, with additional destinations planned.
- Food and shelter items account for the largest share of transported cargo.
- Approximately 10 additional air rotations are planned during the coming week.
- An additional air asset is expected to become operational shortly, supporting planned rotations from Dhunche.
- The potential use of smaller aircraft (AS350/H125) is under assessment to reach locations inaccessible to larger MI-8 helicopters.
- Processing of Airbus Foundation donated airlift support continues.
- Weather conditions and fuel restrictions continue to affect air dispatch planning and operational flexibility.
- LTC common air services remain dedicated to humanitarian cargo transport and do not accommodate passenger movements.
Road Access updates
- Kathmandu–Tokha–Chhahare–Bidur road remains operational with an approximate travel time of 2.5 hours.
- The Devighat–Galchhi road section and Tadi Khola Bridge remain operational.
- Vehicular movement remains restored along the Galchhi–Devighat corridor.
- The Bidur–Durbar–Dhunche road remains blocked at Chokade. Alternative access is available via Dhikure–Bahunbesi–Lachyang.
- Access to Rasuwa remains open via:
- Kathmandu–Dhikure–Lachyang–Dhunche–Syabrubesi; and
- Bidur–Dhikure–Chaughada Bridge–Lachyang–Dhunche–Syabrubesi.
- Alternative gravel routes remain passable but continue to experience muddy conditions, rain-related damage, extended travel times of approximately seven hours, and localized landslide risks.
3. Partners updates
- Additional helicopter capacity operating from Dhunche is being explored to strengthen operational reach and flexibility.
- Potential passenger air services outside LTC common cargo operations are under assessment. Interested organizations are encouraged to communicate anticipated passenger movement requirements directly with the service provider.
- Partners are encouraged to continue sharing operational needs, access constraints, and logistics challenges requiring common service support.
4. AoB
- Coordination meeting frequency is reduced from twice weekly to once weekly, reflecting the current operational tempo and response requirements.
- Weekly coordination meetings will continue on Tuesdays, subject to operational developments and emerging needs.
The next LTC Coordination Meeting is planned for Tuesday, 6 October 2026 at 15:00 local time.
