Airstrip access remains unchanged in the south. Only Wajid continues to be open for both passengers and cargo.
The situation at the Kenya-Somalia border remains fluid. Until Monday, humanitarian convoys from Kenya into Somalia passed with few delays after thorough screening. The border at Liboy closed for convoys yesterday. Although permission for crossing today was granted yesterday, this was revoked this morning. El Wak is closed today as well. No information has been received thus far when border crossing for humanitarian trucks will reopen.
Road transport inside Somalia proceeds with no incidents reported. Due to shifting political alliances, some contractors are not able to work in certain areas anymore. However, with a pool of contractors available, this currently does not pose a logistical obstacle.
Relief distributions also continue in Gedo, Middle Juba, and the northern area of Lower Juba.
