1. HIGHLIGHTS
- Two staff from the Global Logistics Custer Support Cell arrived in Bangkok today and they will proceed to Yangoon tomorrow to support the team there.
- The Logistics Cluster meeting was held today in Yangoon. Minutes to be circulated soon.
2. CLUSTER ACTIVITIES UPDATES
- The logistic cluster team in Bangkok is meeting different private sector actors in order to be able to get agreement of warehouse space availability for interagency use at Bangkok airport
- The logistics cluster in Yangoon is also working on the contracting warehouse space in the industrial areas of the city.

3. AIR TRANSPORT
- Updated report on cargo flights arrived into Myanmar and Thailand has been finalized and made available on the cluster webpage. The logistics cluster is asking participants to continue to compile the suggested format (available on the web) and to provide related information.
- An Antonov 12 chartered by the Swedish MOFA carrying relief items for the Myanmar Red cross and an IL 76 chartered by DFID carrying shelter items arrived in Yangoon ad was discharged today.
- Another Antonov12 carrying WFP support equipment and WHO cargo arrived Yangoon today. Details are available on the air operation daily report.
4. ROAD TRANSPORT
On the 13th of May UNHCR reported on the road condition of the cross border land bridge Mae Sot/Myawaddy:
- The road is reported to be in good condition for 25 mt trucks.
- The road is 1.5 lanes wide, with washed out shoulders and several small land slides. Big trucks are not allowed at night (stopover in Thaton)
- The road is passable throughout the rainy season.
- Reloading is possible into assembly hall near border without problems.
- At the present no trucks bigger than 10mt payloads are allowed in Yangon town.
- Daily change of running direction: road closed one way every other day (on Myanmar side)
5. WAREHOUSE
- Pending the approval from the Thai Government, in order to fill the current gaps and to ensure storage space for cargoes transiting through Bangkok, an ad-interim Staging area with the support of the Private Sector (TNT, Agility, UPS etc) will be set up at the new Bangkok International Airport.
