- On 1 Aug 2007, UNCAS changed its name to UNHAS. Along with the change of name, the previous cost sharing arrangement between WFP and other UN agencies seized with WFP taking over the full operational and financial management of UNHAS. In the first UNHAS usergroup meeting on 7August, it was mutually agreed that all agencies/organisations would have to settle outstanding bills and sign below attached MOU by the 15 August 2007. Agencies and organisations that do not comply with this directive will be unable fly with UNHAS.
- Since the start of the inter-agency air cargo operation on 6 June 2007, a total of 217mt of relief items have been airlifted into Somalia. Organisations that have thus far made use of the service include: World Vision, NRC, UNICEF, WFP, FAO, Intersos, CARE, Habitat, UNFPA, Concern, WHO, Terra Nova and ADRA. Attached is an overview over the cargo tracking.
- The next Somalia Logistics Cluster meeting will take place on 16 August at 3:00pm. With the departure of the Chair, temporary replacement Ivar Stromsmo should be contacted for any issues related to the Logistics Cluster (Ivar Stromsmo - ivar.stromsmo@wfp.org).
