- On 19th February UNHCR reported that on 19th morning they recalled staff from a section of eastern Chad's border with Sudan after earlier air strikes against targets just across the frontier in West Darfur.
- UNHCR also reported that there are normally 4,000-5,000 IDPs at Aro Sharow, but there are unverified reports that most had fled after bombings around Abu Suruj, Sileah and Sirba in West Darfur earlier this month. As of 18th , refugees from Darfur were still crossing into Chad.
- Before the latest development, UNHCR successfully conducted an assessment mission at the weekend to the Birak and Korok areas to locate newly arrived refugees from West Darfur. The refugee agency now estimates there have been at least 10,000 new arrivals since February 8. Most of the refugees are in Figuera, with smaller numbers in Birak, Djange and Korok.
- On 19th February OCHA reported that UNHAS has made available flights for the humanitarian community, connecting N'Djamena and Abéché, as well as other locations in eastern Chad, with the Cameroonian capital Yaoundé as well as Cameroon's towns of Garoua and Maroua.
- On 20th Febaruary Libyan Jamahiriya Broadcasting Corporation reported that Gathafi International Foundation for Charitable Associations and Development in collaboration with Libya Fund for Aid and Development in Africa affiliated with GPC for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation and Libyan Red Crescent Society began an air lift of humanitarian aid in the Republic of Chad.
- Libyan cargo plane has left Benina International Airport loaded with the second shipment of humanitarian aid. The first shipment of air cargo has left Benina Airport Monday 18th evening.
