On 11th October 2007 the logistics team on the ground reported the following information:
Weather: (as of 10 Oct.)
- Soroti: Rained heavily twice in 24hrs in and around Soroti
- Lira: No rains reported in and around Lira in the last 5 days
- Kitgum: No rains reported all over Kitgum in the last one week
- Pader: Heavy rain reported in last 24 hrs
- Gulu: No rains reported in/around Gulu
Roads and Bridges:
- Water levels still high at Komolo, Awojja and Aguu bridges and reported increasing at a rate of 4 cm when it rains and recedes at 1 cm in case of no rain
- Cluster team reported that road 1km before Aguu Bridge has been seriously affected by floods water.
- Minor repairs (backfilling with murram and stones) at Aguu bridge are eported
- The road to Soroti open with cautious movement on the bridge for all vehicle
- For safety it is still advisable to travel to Soroti via Lira town.
- The Ministry of Work effort on the back filling damaged portions along the Komolo to Katakwi swamp with murram is still in progress. Same effort is being replicated at Aguu bridge to keep the road open to traffic
- Access to Katakwi via Komolo is still cut off.
- An agreement has been reached between Pader and Kitgum districts to open Pajule-Pader road section in weeks time.
