Progress of the Logistics Sector’s Efforts

- Partners are encouraged to submit their transport needs (maritime and road) via the RITA platform, accessible via this link: Rita - Relief Item Tracking Application.
April Thematic Meeting: The April meeting brought together representatives from Cap Terminal—one of the cargo receiving ports in Cap-Haïtien—the Logistics Sector team, and humanitarian partners, facilitating discussions on the main challenges related to port operations in Cap-Haïtien.
Capacity Building and Opportunities for Collaboration with the Humanitarian Sector: Presentation by HELP
- A presentation on the HELP organization was given as part of the Logistics Sector’s efforts to promote capacity building and professional development in Haiti, highlighting relevant opportunities for humanitarian partners.
- HELP presented its Excellence Scholarship Program for Haitian university students in several fields, including nursing, education, agronomy, and computer science, as well as its support services designed to prepare young people for successful integration into the professional world.
- The organization highlighted its professional development services, including training on resume preparation, job interviews, ethics and confidentiality, conflict management in the workplace, as well as technical and digital skills tailored to current labor market demands.
- The importance of professional internships was emphasized as a key lever enabling scholarship recipients to gain practical experience before entering the job market. HELP noted that each scholarship recipient is provided with at least one internship opportunity as part of their program.
- This presentation was particularly relevant for humanitarian partners, highlighting a concrete opportunity to access young, qualified talent who can help meet the sector’s human resources needs.
- Several partners shared their positive experiences collaborating with interns from the HELP program, noting that some of these interns were subsequently hired as employees within their organizations.
- Interested partners can explore opportunities to collaborate with HELP, including by hosting interns, providing professional mentoring, or leading training sessions for students and recent graduates.
The next Logistics Sector coordination meeting will take place on May 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. online
