Logistics Situation Update.
- Road Conditions:
- Road transport remains possible on the country’s main routes despite ongoing security constraints. Operations continue primarily thanks to private carriers.
- The Logistics Sector’s road transport services remain operational and continue to support humanitarian partners.
- Airport Situation:
- Cap-Haïtien International Airport remains fully operational and continues to provide international flights, including to the United States.
- FAA restrictions on U.S. civilian aircraft operations in the Port-au-Prince area have been extended through March 2, 2027. Consequently, commercial flights operated by U.S. airlines to and from Port-au-Prince remain suspended.
- Cap-Haïtien continues to serve as the country’s primary international air gateway, particularly for flights to and from the United States.
- Port Situation: The country’s main ports remain operational. However, access restrictions may occur from time to time, and partners are encouraged to exercise heightened vigilance when moving goods.
- • Fuel:
- No risk of shortages has been reported at this time, and fuel loading operations are proceeding normally at the Varreux terminal.
- Partners are invited to report any physical access constraints observed in the field on the LogIE platform via this link: Haiti. A mobile app is available to facilitate the reporting of physical access constraints from mobile phones. Partners are encouraged to download this app via the following link: Mobile Application | Logistics Cluster Website, also accessible via the QR code shown here.
• Progress on the Logistics Sector’s Efforts
- Joint Maritime Transport: In August 2026, the Logistics Sector’s maritime services facilitated the transport of 474 metric tons of humanitarian cargo to eight partners. This volume included 96.2 metric tons of food and non-food items transported via the Southern Corridor, as well as 377.5 metric tons of foodstuffs transported via the Northern Corridor. These results demonstrate the essential role of the maritime service in sustaining humanitarian operations and assisting vulnerable populations.
- Panama–Haiti Air Bridge: The flight announced at the August 28 coordination meeting was canceled due to a lack of new funding. The available financial resources had to be reallocated to other, more urgent transportation priorities.
- Funding for Services and the Need for Advocacy: The Logistics Sector draws partners’ attention to the need to strengthen advocacy efforts in support of funding for shared services, particularly maritime transport. Feedback, testimonials, and impact data from user organizations are key to demonstrating the added value of these services to donors. A collective effort by partners will help better highlight the results achieved through these services and support the search for funding to ensure their continued operation for the benefit of the humanitarian community.
• Update on the tabletop exercise.
- The Logistics Sector and the DGPC will organize a tabletop exercise on September 15, 2026, focused on the coordination of emergency services and logistical support in crisis situations.
- The main objectives of the exercise are to:
- Test coordination mechanisms between emergency services, logistics actors, and emergency medical teams.
- Assess the effectiveness of procedures, protocols, and operational management tools under simulated conditions.
- Strengthen planning, resource allocation, and mechanisms for information sharing and decision-making.
- Validate logistical capabilities for the receipt, storage, transport, and distribution of humanitarian aid.
- Particular attention is being paid to the participation of healthcare sector stakeholders and partners with capabilities for evacuating and transporting victims, in order to incorporate aspects related to medical evacuations into the simulation scenario.
The next Logistics Sector coordination meeting will take place on September 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. online
