The Global Solar Atlas (GSA) is a free, online platform developed by the World Bank Group, ESMAP (Energy Sector Management Assistance Program) and managed by Solargis to provide high-resolution data on solar resource potential worldwide. Designed to support policymakers, researchers, investors, and developers, the GSA offers easy access to solar maps, downloadable GIS data, and site-specific photovoltaic (PV) energy simulations for nearly every location on Earth.

Key features include:

- Interactive global and regional solar maps (irradiation and PV power potential)
- Data layers such as Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI), Direct Normal Irradiance (DNI), and PV output estimates
- Downloadable reports and datasets to aid in energy planning, feasibility studies, and project development
