It is with deep sadness that we inform you of an explosion at the WFP office in Islamabad today, which killed five staff members and injured others. Our thoughts are with our colleagues and the families of those who are affected.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has described the bombing as a "heinous crime". WFP Executive Director Josette Sheeran also condemned the attack and said all of the victims were "humanitarian heroes".
Given these sad circumstances we regret to inform you that the in-country Logistics Cluster operation will be affected - we will keep you updated as we know more.
