| The Regional Logistics Cluster Support Cell will end its activities at the end of August 2006, after having been operational for a period of 6 months. During the past 6 months, the logistics cluster activities focused on 3 points: Liaison, Information management and Logistics operational support.
The most important achievement of the Cluster has been the engagement of the main humanitarian actors in information sharing and discussion on operational-logistics related common concerns. We experienced that sharing information and assets, where possible, is a valuable way of logistics coordination during emergencies. WFP, as lead agency for the Logistics Cluster, is committed to promptly reactivate the activities of the Logistics cluster, should the humanitarian situation in the region justify dedicated capacity for emergency coordination. |
