Detailed Assessment by UNDSS
CHUKI
Approximately 2km SOUTH of BHERI in an area known as CHUKI a 50m section of the road on a steep hillside has collapsed, leaving only a narrow path sized section passable. Attempts are underway by authorities to construct a separate dirt road up a side valley in order to by pass this section of road. However, the surface and stability of this "bypass" remains questionable since it runs up the bed of a valley that could flood in event of rain.
In addition to this section, there are several other areas of hazard from large and unstable boulders and narrow sections where the road has collapsed. The majority of the road is in good condition but the few chokepoints, being critically limiting or impassable to vehicles.
