This global information session explored practical alternatives to conventional plastic pallet wrapping in humanitarian supply chains. Hosted by the WREC Coalition and HSOT, with the support of the supplier NRS Relief, the session featured insights from operational field testing in Chad, examining the feasibility of paper- and plant-based packaging solutions and their potential to reduce waste while maintaining product protection and operational performance. Participants gained practical lessons, challenges, and key considerations for evaluating and adopting more sustainable packaging practices across humanitarian operations.
