| Regarding hazardous waste disposal options in Kabul, from a past as Acting Manager for the Healthcare Waste Management Project at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), hazardous waste was managed according to MoPH’s procedures, with several disposal options available, including: -Use of incinerators for on-site waste treatment. -Partnerships with authorized companies like Kamyab Waste Management Services and Mohit Sabz Cleaning Services, which have the necessary technology and infrastructure. -Designated disposal at a specific site in Gazak chosen by MoPH for controlled waste disposal. The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation informed the transporters who informed WFP of the new directive. 4. 1. We have received reports that Pakistani authorities may reopen the Torkham Crossing Point by tomorrow, with customs and immigration staff called to duty. However, these reports are not yet officially confirmed. 2. According to the Torkham commissioner, the gate for transit trucks had opened. The pedestrian crossing will open after some reconstruction, expected on Friday, 21 March. 3. Local reports indicate that the gate will remain closed for pedestrians today due to technical issues, despite plans to open it on 21 March. |
