Turkey Warehouse Management Training
Gaziantep, Turkey 23-30 November, 2016
The Syria Logistics Cluster, together with WFP, organised two warehouse management trainings in Gaziantep for organisations based in southern Turkey and working on the response to the Syria crisis.
A total of 43 people from 27 organisations (including INGOs, local NGOs and UN agencies) participated to the two three-day trainings.
Each training included a visit to UNHCR’s warehouse in Gaziantep, where the participants witnessed first-hand best practices in warehouse management.
A staff member from the INGO Polish Humanitarian Action was eager to share his experience: “This training was excellent. I have been working in this sector for several years, yet I learned many useful warehouse management procedures that were new for me. I was also very grateful for the flexibility of the trainers: while sessions were in English they summarised the most important points in Arabic, ensuring a deeper understanding for the majority Arabic-speaking participants. I would recommend to the Logistics Cluster and WFP to reach out to even more NGOs next year, as they would greatly benefit from this training.”
