The Working Group

Built upon a joint recommendation by the regional humanitarian partners, the Asia Pacific Humanitarian Logistics Working Group was launched in June 2024 and brings together Supply Chain and Logistics focal points or the equivalence from 22 organisations ranging, from the donors, humanitarian agencies, academia, the private sector, as well as the regional disaster management entities.

Facilitated and co-led by the Logistics Cluster team in the Asia Pacific region, the Working Group provides a platform for information sharing and identification of common logistics needs and collaborative opportunities among the partners. This helps enhance the complementarity of the community members in improving their humanitarian programme delivery and strengthening local response capacities.

Objectives

The objectives of the working group are:

  • Strengthening humanitarian supply chain networks through exchange of knowledge, lessons learned and good practices, information sharing, and facilitation of logistics capacity development.
  • Joint advocacy and representing the humanitarian logistics community in regional and international forums.
