Ardamata Bridge (West Darfur) Not Passable for Vehicles

Situation update

Ardamata Bridge (West Darfur)

The Ardamata bridge, approx. 7 km northeast of El Geneina, linking West and Central Darfur, is currently not passable for vehicles or trucks, following reported damage last week. It is only accessible to pedestrians, motorbikes, and tuk-tuks. Without rehabilitation of the bridge, this route may be fully cut off during the rainy season.

There is no nearby alternative route to Central Darfur. The only alternative is via Tina, which also faces access constraints and is not accessible for humanitarian movement.

The Logistics Cluster continues to monitor the situation and will share updates as more information becomes available. To share any updates or additional information, please contact sudan.logcluster@wfp.org.
