The catamaran “Vittoria”, which will be providing a regular passenger service between Cyprus and Beirut, made its first sailing yesterday (August 17th) without a hitch, and with a full media send-off. At the “Vittoria’s” return this evening, a representative of the Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs was present at Larnaca port to assist in case visa problems should arise. Forty passengers were booked on the vessel to Beirut and another 20 on her return leg from Beirut to Cyprus.

From next week on, round trips will be scheduled twice a week on Mondays and Fridays with revised departure times of 09:00 from Larnaca and 15:00 from Beirut.  The passenger service is available to all UN agencies and OCHA-accredited NGOs, and embassy officials with the proper documentation. Any other requests for travel will be considered on a case-by-case basis. For full up-to-date booking procedures, please see the attached document.
