The main challenge of the humanitarian response in Syria has been to deliver aid to people isolated in areas of conflict, due to the volatile and rapidly evolving security environment. Many local private transporters have been unable to deliver food, water, sanitation and health (WASH), cooking equipment, mattresses and shelter items because of the on-going conflict.
