Syria – After weeks of preparatory work, on 09 July the Logistics Cluster, through WFP, succeeded in facilitating the first rotation of the IL-76 that left Damascus for Qamishli on Saturday evening, delivering 40 mt of WFP food supplies, where they were received and unloaded by contracted transport staff on the ground. This first delivery, provided by WFP Aviation and coordinated by the Logistics Cluster, will transport much needed Inter-Agency life-saving humanitarian supplies from Damascus to Qamishli airport. Together with OCHA and SARC, the Logistics Cluster facilitated the movement of an Inter-Agency Humanitarian Convoy that on 23 June reached Jerud, a hard to reach location in Rural Damascus that had never been reached by convoy before.

A total of 24 trucks delivered around 634 mt of food, shelter, health and WASH supplies, including food rations, Plumpy Sup, hygiene kits, school bags kits, medicines, solar lamps, jerry cans, etc.
